The theory of semirings and semimodules, regarded as a generalized theory of rings and modules, has been extensively studied since 1956. The aim of this paper is to study projective covers of semimodules. In particular, we first consider some properties of superfluous subsemimodules. Then, we characterize some characteristic properties of completely subtractive (CS) projective covers and give some applications of them.
